National Children's Month Celebration
Under Republic Act 10661, the month of November is declared as NCM to commemorate the adoption of the Convention on the Rights of the Child (CRC) by the United Nations (UN) General Assembly on November 20, 1989. The Philippines observes National Children's Month every November. Giving Filipino children access to a healthy environment, a quality education, and healthcare is the goal of this month-long celebration. The focus of National Children’s Month is to offer help to those children who suffered from abuse, poverty, natural calamities, and violence. In fact, in 2013 alone, there was a disturbingly high rate of children who suffered from sexual abuse and exploitation. By 2015, late Philippine President Benigno Aquino III made November the official National Children’s Month in the Philippines under the Republic Act No. 10661.
