My COVID-19 Experience and Struggles
The COVID-191 virus originated in China and began to spread globally
through airborne and through people who have close contact with those who have
been exposed to the virus. On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization
(WHO) declared COVID-19 a pandemic. The virus was spreading rapidly and causing
a lockdown here in the Philippines and around the world. A hundred million
people are infected, and a million people have already died because of the
disease.
As a student, my experience of this pandemic is very difficult.
Adjusting to the new normal was very hard for me and for the other students
because not all of us have the complete equipment for the online class. The
effects of the pandemic and lockdown on the students are stress, anxiety,
depression, and dissatisfaction. The student's health and well-being were
troublesome and at risk, not because of the pandemic, but because of their
academic performance. They weren't able to study properly because an online
class requires stable internet and good equipment for you to understand the
discussion, and that causes them a higher stress level. Because of the limited
social interaction during the pandemic, some people felt lonely because they
couldn't contact their loved ones who were away or abroad. As a student,
hearing about other students committing suicide because of loneliness,
depression, and pressure on academics on the news saddens me. It is hard to
imagine how far they have come and yet they commit suicide because of personal
problems and complications.
In conclusion, I was able to overcome these hardships during the pandemic by having a strong mentality and not giving up easily. I was able to surpass these challenges with the help of my family, relatives, and friends. They were my support system until now. They are the reason why I'm here and why I have achieved many things in life.
This is enlightening wow!!
