Simple but Enjoyable Celebrations

    Christians celebrate Christmas because it commemorates the birth of Jesus Christ. It is celebrated on the 25th of every December. Christmas is as much about giving as it is about receiving.

 

    On December 24, 2022, I and my family prepared many foods for us to eat on Christmas Eve; we even stayed in contact with our grandparents and cousins through video calls. We are not able to go to our family's house because we can't leave our pets alone again, which causes them stress. The last time we had our whole family gather was in 2019, after 6 years. We spent Christmas Eve happily because we are complete and content with what we had. My family watched movies and played games; we spent our vacation spending quality time with each other. On Christmas Eve, we are eating and talking to our relatives; we have many stories to tell and share, and we cherish each and every moment because this only happens once a year.

 

    Everyone enjoys holidays like Christmas because of partying and meeting each other, it is also the season of giving, receiving, and sharing with families and friends. It is a festival of happiness because it is the beginning of great things in the world since it is the birth of Jesus Christ.

Ilocos Sur is a beautiful province located in the northern part of Luzon. It is a province rich in culture that represents the ancient Spanish and Filipino heritage. To show and share their treasures to the whole world, the locals conceived a festival that highlights these cultural traditions and they called it the “Kannadiwan Festival”.
